An unexpected breakup of a once loving relationship can be one of the hardest things most of us will ever have to deal with. While it's never easy, there are a few things you can do to learn to cope with a relationship break up go a little easier and a lot less painfully. It hurts now but you can get through it in less time than you think.
1.) The first thing you have to do is to completely stop all communication with your ex. This is very difficult because at this early stage you are probably still hoping for reconciliation and you're worried if you're not around they'll think you don't care and they'll find someone else.
2.) The truth of the matter is that if they are already over you they don't really care that much if you want them back or not. They will move on when they are ready, not when you are. So not communicating with them isn't going to make a difference, to them, but it can help you focus on yourself and find a way to move on.
3.) Later, after things have cooled down, you may be able to talk to them either as a way to just say goodbye or possibly to reconcile, but for a time after the breakup you need to cut them out of your thoughts and the best way to do that is to not have any contact with them at all. That means no calls, texts or emails at this time.
4.) Next is to concentrate on you. What activities do you really like doing? Concentrate on those things you used to really like to do and that won't remind you of your ex and the good times you once shared together when the relationship was working.
5.) Start doing things that make you feel good, like Spending time with good friends and family. Go shopping and get a new outfit to make you look and feel good. Get your hair done, go away on guys only or girls only vacation.
6.) Most people in a relationship tend to lose some of their individuality. Now is the time to get some of that back. It will make you feel better emotionally and it will show people that you are an attractive and confident person with a lot to offer.
To learn to cope with a relationship break up is never easy. You can get through it with a lot less pain, though, if you follow some of these tips. Just make sure to spend time focusing on you and your needs and not on what used to be or what could have been.
