Retro Soda Pop Machines: What To Know Before Refurbishing One

If you have an old retro soda pop machine lying at home, you may have thought of disposing it. Instead of doing that, however, why not have that machine refurbished? vintage soda machines are collectibles, originally just a hobby sprouted from a sense of nostalgia, but can now also be considered as a serious investment option.
You may be asking if it's even worth the effort to get that machine restored. It's at least worth the research, since you can be assured of a market for these items. What makes restoring them especially lucrative is that these are also Americana, and in effect patriotic. Even if the machine you have looks unrepairable, there's a good chance it's just valuable enough to payoff the costs of doing so.
Refurbishing a machine is not as hard or expensive as it seems. Vintage soda machine experts take all the pieces out and wash them. The pieces are painted, then put back together so that it works again. Finally, everything is tested and certified to assure its value.
Say you do have such a machine lying at home, but don't know where to start the restoration process. Not to worry as there are many machine and collectible companies that specialize in restoration and refurbishing. They will even find and replace unusable parts for you, and will be able to bring your old machine back to working condition and increase its value.

Chances are good you'll find yours listed somewhere, along with individual specifications. Market value is best verified with a collectibles price guide.
Whether you like these machines or not, and irregardless of whether you like them enough to make it a hobby, it's worth the time to look into restoring that machine. If you're lucky, you might be restoring a machine very valuable to collectors. The only way to find out for sure is to research and find out more.
